Starting with Hope and ending with, appropriately, Endings and New Beginnings, we take a journey through the contemporary career coaching and therapy literature and apply it to ourselves, our clients and our practices.

Suitable for Career Coaches or other professionals who work with Careers as a topic with clients.

Each workshop includes a mix of presentations, practical exercises and time for discussion and reflection.

1. Nurturing Hope in Career
Explore how coaches can help their clients to nurture and sustain a vital sense of Hope in our challenging world.
4. Rethinking the Coaching Room
Explore the coaching spaces in which we work, from face-to-face and online approaches, to working outdoors.
7. Working within Diversity (Part 2)
Focus in-depth on specific forms of diversity - from ethnicity, to GDSR and neurodiversity issues.
2. Career from a Liminality Perspective
Examine how ideas about liminality can provide insights into supporting clients to navigate complex career challenges.
5. Using Transference & Projective Identification
Examine contemporary ideas about key psychodynamic theories and their valuable role in career coaching.
8. Rethinking Retirement
Explore late-stage career issues in the context of longer working lives, retirement transitions and bridging careers.
3. Who Shapes our Careers?
Identify who can influence our careers and how new notions of these ‘career shapers’ can assist career development.
6. Working within Diversity (Part I)
Gain an overview of contemporary issues - from the nature of diversity to ethical, power and social justice perspectives.
9. Endings and New Beginnings
Reflect on the critical nature of Endings and how to manage them successfully in the coaching process.

Cost is £45 per session or £360 season pass (pay for 8, get 9)
About the Facilitators
Dr Helen Cooper has run her own career consultancy practice for nearly 20 years, working as a fully qualified and experienced career coach and supervisor. She is also a Research Fellow at Birkbeck’s Business School.
Mike Higgins is a Career Coach and Integrative Counsellor and he supervises in both areas. He is an Associate Lecturer on the Career Coaching Masters at Birkbeck and a Lecturer on the Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy Masters at the UEL.

The sessions are live and rely on practitioners sharing their experiences in a confidential space. As a result, we don't record the sessions, and expect that participants will have their cameras on and engage throughout. If this will not be possible for you, please don't book the event.

Please don't record the sessions.

You can cancel or defer your booking to a later session up to 48 hours in advance of the start time. For each event this will be 6pm on the Monday of the week the session takes place. Refunds will be via PayPal to the account or card on which they were taken.

After that, it is not possible to cancel and we will not refund the fee.

If you can't make the session, you will receive a PDF of the materials, as will all participants, afterwards.

If you buy the season pass, you can cancel up to 48 hours before the first session, but not after that.

On booking you will only receive the PayPal payment confimation but we will send the Zoom link and a link to any preparation materials in advance. If you are booking less than 24 hours before the start time, please email mike@thisismypath.co.uk as well so we can forward the link.
